MVTA Seeks Transit Summit to Address Regional Funding Issues Burnsville, Minn. (July 19, 2007) With the opening of the new Southbridge Crossings Park & Ride in Shakopee, commuters from Shakopee and Prior Lake gained another travel alternative and the Twin Cities moved one step closer to the vision established in 1991 when the Minnesota Transit Service Demonstration Project (commonly referred to as the opt-out program) was created.
Support for "Dump the Pump" Day on June 21 The MVTA Board supports the "Dump the Pump" campaign being sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association on June 21. Watch for special buttons and more information on how you can reduce your impact on the environment.
Expansion of Transit Taxing District The MVTA supports expansion ot the Transit Taxing District to include the entire 7-county Metro Area. Ultimately, the MVTA believes the district should include the 9-county Metro Area.
