Demolition to begin at former Watson's Site
3/20/2008 2:29 PMHazardous waste abatement work has been completed at the former site of Watson's at 155th and Cedar Ave in Apple Valley. Demolition of the buildings will begin as early as Monday 3/24/08. Cars are expected to continue to have access to the parking spaces, but riders are advised that there will be debris in the area, and to be cautious when walking or driving around the site.
Additionally, due to difficulties in getting electricity to the site during demolition, the lights may not work. Riders are advised to be aware of this, and to know that the MVTA will work to keep the site as safe as possible.
Following demolition of the buildings, which is likely to take a couple of weeks, the site is slated for asphalt repair and resurfacing. The work is exptected to be completed within 60 days.
