Pass Information

Bus Fares Effective July 1, 2005.

31-Day Pass
31-day passes offer 31 consecutive days of unlimited riding starting on the first day of use. Cards can be used on all MVTA services.

The price of the pass is based on the fare for which the pass is used:
         $50.00 pass for a $1.50 fare
         $76.00 pass for a $2.00 fare
         $104.00 pass for a $2.75 fare

A $21.00 pass is available for certified Persons with Disabilities only.

Stored Value Card
Stored value cards (cards with magnetic strips) provide $11 in bus fares for $10, $22 in bus fares for $20, or $44 in bus fares for $40. Cards can be used on all MVTA bus services.

Go-To Card
Go-To cards are available at all Metro Transit Stores (downtown Minneapolis, downtown St. Paul, Mall of America), at the Commuter Connection in downtown Minneapolis and at Southwest Station in Eden Prairie.  They are also available on-line at the Metro
Transit
web-site.  The GO-TO card offers a faster and more convenient way to pay transit fares and is a durable, plastic card with a built-in microchip that tracks cash value and 31-day passes.  Riders simply touch the Go-To card to the card reader and the appropriate fare is deducted automatically. The Go-To card will ultimately also feature:

Rechargeable convenience:  Stored Value Card or 31-Day Pass:  as card value gets low, add value at retail outlets (including the Burnsville Transit Station), Transit Stores, or use the autoload option to replenish the card's value automatically from your credit card.  Initially, cards will only be available at Metro Transit stores.  Auto-load features are expected to be rolled out later this year, as will the ability to purchase these cards at the Burnsville Transit Station.

Regional access:  Go-To cards will be accepted on any regular route bus and the Hiawatha Light-Rail line.

Security Protection:  Register your Go-To card and if it's lost or stolen, you'll receive a replacement with the card's remaining value.  A small administrative fee
may apply.
