Major construction activity on I-35W is expected to begin in June, as MnDOT rebuilds the freeway and bridges, repairs and adds ramps, builds a transit station and makes improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists.  Access to and from downtown Minneapolis from I-35W will be closed and lanes reduced for approximately four months, affecting downtown commuters from the south metro area.  MVTA is prepared with detour plans which maximize the use of transit advantages.
