The IT Specialist has primary responsibilities for supporting, maintaining, and improving computer and network systems for Minnesota Valley Transit Station (MVTA). The IT Specialist will be accountable for hardware and software, personal computer and networking systems, data analysis, control of all information technology assets and general support of transit information systems, facility access, and surveillance systems. Transit software/equipment experience is not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
The IT Specialist serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance with peripheral devices, telecommunication and data communication equipment, to include: planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network, hardware, and communication connectivity and operation. This role also analyzes and resolves end user issues in a timely and accurate fashion; and provides end-user training and support where required. Periodic audits of the system need to be conducted as part of the job, as well as the application of patches and upgrades.
The IT Specialist needs to have flexibility to cover after-hour events within the MVTA and on-call duties as assigned.
