Apple Valley Transit Station construction to begin

Ramp to close Saturday June 15; interim parking plan to begin

The Apple Valley Transit Station is set to get a major makeover this year that will add two additional levels of ramp parking.

The construction project will begin this week and the ramp will close Saturday, June 15, and remain closed to parking during the construction period, which is expected to last until mid December. Beginning June 15, transit customers will be directed to interim ground parking locations (identified on the attached picture).

MVTA advises customers to park in designated parking spaces.

In addition to the parking expansion at AVTS, the construction will provide a variety of other improvements, including:

    • Adding a second elevator at the ramp.
    • Energy-efficient LED lighting.
    • Accessibility improvements on existing levels at the main entrance.
    • A modern façade on the AVTS ramp.
    • Additional security cameras to improve public safety.

Route 475 and Route 480 change

During construction, Route 475 and Route 480 buses will pick up and drop off passengers at Old Apple Valley Transit Station. Other routes will continue to use current boarding areas
