Construction relief detour out of downtown: Routes 464, 470, 472, 476, 478 and 479Jul 23rd, 2019 8:30 am
Due to considerable downtown Minneapolis construction projects adding to congestion areas and affecting the flow of bus traffic, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority is detouring six southbound bus routes off of Marquette Avenue.
Downtown congestion is at critical point and has caused unacceptable delays during this construction season. These detours are designed to provide relief on Marquette Avenue and improve trip times on detoured routes.
Southbound routes that will be affected are routes 464, 470, 472, 476, 478 and 479.
New Boarding locations
Customers on these routes will need to board at the following stop locations:
- 4th Avenue/3rd Street (first stop; start time of trip begins here)
- 4th Avenue/ 5th Street
- 4th Avenue/7th Street
- 3rd Avenue/11th Street (last downtown stop; only shelter location)
Trip times for all detoured routes can be found here.
MVTA plans to monitor bus trip times during the construction detour to help determine when normal routing will resume.
MVTA appreciates customers’ patience as we look for ways to avoid downtown traffic delays.
Additional information on the detours and detour boarding locations is being distributed to MVTA passengers prior to July 8 and will be available at www.mvta.com.
