MVTA Connect ride-on-demand now has $3 fares, expanded service area

MVTA Connect, a ride-on-demand service in Savage and western Burnsville, now features $3 curb-to-curb rides in an expanded service area.

Like other on-demand rideshare services, MVTA Connect allows riders to arrange a ride on a MVTA vehicle through a smartphone-based app called TransLoc or at The TransLoc app can be downloaded for free through Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Service runs from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fares on MVTA Connect are $3 and the driver can provide a free daily transfer to MVTA’s other fixed routes. Fixed-route riders can also ask for a transfer to be used within 2.5 hours on MVTA Connect.

MVTA Connect is available on a pilot basis and in addition to all of Savage the service area includes the Burnsville Transit Station, the Burnsville Mall, Burnsville Walmart, Burnsville High School and Fairview Ridges Hospital.
