MVTA Connect transfer changes effective Jan. 31
Effective Jan. 31, MVTA Connect transfer rules will change to improve system performance and promote use of MVTA fixed-route buses.
Starting Jan. 31, customers who use MVTA Connect will be offered a free same-day transfer that can be used to connect with any MVTA fixed-route bus. The transfer tickets will not be valid for future trips on Connect.
Since the launch of Connect services, ridership and the service areas have grown and have resulted in increased wait times during heavy usage of the system.
The transfer change is designed to encourage additional connections to fixed route service and improve service times on Connect trips.
MVTA Connect includes the cities of Savage, Burnsville, Apple Valley and Rosemount. The MVTA Connect-Eagan zone exclusively serves the city of Eagan.
The Connect systems allow residents to access transit stations to connect to MVTA’s system of routes that serve the region. Notable fixed route connections available within the MVTA Connect Service area include Routes 420, 442, 444, 445, 446, 447 and Orange LINK. Route details available at https://www.mvta.com/routes/.”
While the transfer change will improve system performance, customers are advised that service on Connect is based on availability of Connect buses and wait times will fluctuate based on demand.
