Summer 2023 route schedule updates

In addition to the return of the weekend 4Fun Bus, serving top entertainment destinations in the region, MVTA will make additional modifications to select routes as part of our summer service change on Saturday, June 17. 

Route 465, 475 downtown routing change

Route 465 and Route 475 will have new routing between Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota to streamline travel and improve trip times (see map below). While the routing is changing, the frequency of trips serving the University of Minnesota is not. 

Route 465 connects Burnsville Transit Station to downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota, and Route 475 connects Apple Valley Transit Station to Minneapolis and the U of M.

The downtown routing will use 3rd/4th Street to and from U of M instead of Washington Avenue to avoid congestion issues.

Added trips on southbound 490

Route 490, which also serves Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota, is adding three additional southbound trips to meet customer demand.

Route 490 runs between downtown Prior Lake and Southbridge Crossings Park and Ride in Shakopee to Minneapolis and the U of M.

A noon trip is being added from the University of Minnesota back to the south metro and 4:10 p.m. and 6 p.m. southbound trips are being added and will depart from the Gateway Ramp in Minneapolis.

Other route changes

4FUN Route information - Starting Thursday and Friday, June 22 and June 23, the 4FUN bus will begin operating on Thursdays and Fridays as well as Saturdays and Sundays.
