Shakopee Seniors' Bus and Rail Adventure via Route 495!

Ten seniors from Shakopee set out on a chilly, rainy morning on an adventure using public transportation to attend the opening day of Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Thursday, April 27.

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Customer Service Representative, Kristi Sellwood, accompanied the group throughout the day. Beginning their trip on local Shakopee Route 497, the group transferred to Route 495 - a new Express trip serving Marschall Road Transit Station, Burnsville Transit Station and Mall of America.

The trip continued, taking the Blue Line train to the Warehouse District Station, then Route 11 to Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Now 'experienced' riders, some members of the group have stated they plan to use Route 495 to reach the Mall of America in the future!
