Take a free ride on MVTA Connect during launch month!Jun 9th, 2019 1:43 pm
Riders are invited to take a free ride on MVTA Connect now through June 28.
Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is proud to announce the debut of MVTA Connect, an on-demand public transit service in the Savage community. MVTA Connect delivers flexibility, value and more options for riders in the south metro.
Like other on-demand rideshare services, MVTA Connect allows riders to arrange a ride on a MVTA vehicle through a smartphone-based app called Microtransit or at ondemand.transloc.com. The Microtransit app can be downloaded for free through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Service runs from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fares are free through June 28 and the driver can provide a free daily transfer to MVTA’s other fixed routes. The fare will be $4 after the launch month promotion.
MVTA Connect will be available on a pilot basis in Savage and with service to the Burnsville Transit Station and the Burnsville Mall. Based on the pilot’s success, the service may expand throughout MVTA’s service area of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan and Rosemount in Dakota County, and Savage, Prior Lake and Shakopee in Scott County.
