Traffic impacts have begun in downtown Minneapolis for Super Bowl week causing additional delays downtown for all modes of transit. Congestion issues are expected to be particularly acute during the afternoon rush hours.

MVTA has been working with officials to improve traffic control downtown and limit delays.

During the next week, customers may also consider using the Blue Line light rail from Mall of America to avoid downtown congestion or adjusting to earlier or later work hours, if possible.

In addition to the express downtown Minneapolis routes, MVTA also operates regular routes that serve Mall of America including Route 495 (Shakopee – Burnsville – Mall of America), Route 444 (Savage – Burnsville – Eagan – Mall of America), and Red Line (Apple Valley – Mall of America).

Through Sunday, Feb. 4, MVTA is operating additional service on select routes. See https://www.mvta.com/super-bowl/ for details.

MVTA apologizes for the delays associated with Super Bowl-related congestion. Thank you for your continued support of transit.
