MVTA preparing for potential winter storm

Nov 25, 2025 9:18 am

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Tuesday evening with snowfall rates exceeding an inch per hour and strong northwest winds gusting to 45 mph may lead to blizzard conditions at times.

The snow could potentially cause travel delays, slippery roads and reduced visibility.

MVTA’s top priority is to keep our customers and drivers safe. MVTA Operations is monitoring the weather and plans for drivers to check in early on Wednesday to prepare for their routes.

During this storm:

1. Be ready for delays and dress appropriately for dangerous cold. On winter weather days when roads and traffic are backed up, delays are largely unavoidable. While we always strive to be on-time, be prepared for your bus to arrive a little later than normal.

2. Consider delaying your trip. When extreme winter conditions exist, it is always safest to stay where you are. If it’s not a necessary trip, consider making it another day when the weather improves.
