Airport service starting

MVTA will be adding direct service to MSP Airport Terminal 1, making route enhancements to Orange Link, and providing service to the new Thomson Reuters facility on Route 436 and Route 489. MVTA route service changes take effect on Saturday, December 2.

MVTA will be providing direct public transit access to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Terminal 1 on Express Route 495. The route runs seven days a week from Marschall Road Transit Station in Shakopee, downtown Savage, Burnsville Transit Station, and the Mall of America. Arrival times at the airport are scheduled every two hours: 6:33 a.m., 8:33 a.m., 10:33 a.m., 12:33 p.m., 2:33 p.m. 4:33 p.m., 6:37 p.m. and 10:33 p.m. (schedule) Free overnight parking at Burnsville Transit Station will be available for customers using Route 495 to get to and from the airport. In addition to the new service to MSP Terminal 1, Route 495 also will be adding additional stops during the day in downtown Savage.

Free overnight parking at Burnsville Transit Station will be available for customers using Route 495 to get to and from the airport.

In addition to the new service to MSP Terminal 1, Route 495 also will be adding additional stops during the day in downtown Savage.

Orange Link, which has served as a north-south local route in Burnsville, will provide connections on County Road 42 to Apple Valley Transit Station and along Cliff Road to Blackhawk Park and Ride in Eagan. Orange Link is a Monday through Friday route that provides connections to Burnsville Center, Burnsville Transit Station, Burnsville Walmart, and the Metro Orange Line at the Heart of the City Station. The new routing also adds a new connection between Burnsville Transit Station and Apple Valley Transit Station.
