FIELD TRIP PASS

What is it?

The MVTA Field Trip Pass provides access to MVTA’s existing fixed-route bus service for a designated day. It’s an easy and affordable way for school groups to travel together using public transit.

MVTA staff work directly with teachers, chaperones, and school administrators to help plan the trip, including identifying appropriate bus stops, routes, and travel times to ensure a smooth experience.

Eligibility

Field Trip Passes are available to groups affiliated with an educational institution located within MVTA’s existing fixed-route service area. Field Trip Passes must be requested four weeks in advance of date of travel.

Note: Field Trip Passes are valid only on MVTA’s existing fixed-route buses and are not accepted on MVTA Connect (microtransit) services.

Field Trip Pass

Schools must contact MVTA at least four weeks prior to the planned field trip date. Once your request form is submitted, MVTA staff will review your destination and travel details to determine whether existing fixed routes are the best option for your trip. Because trips operate on regular public bus service, departure and arrival times must remain flexible to align with existing route schedules. We’ll work with you to help plan a smooth and successful travel experience.
