MSP Airport Service

MVTA offers service to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Terminal 1 via Route 495V and starting on September 2., 2025 via route 436. Service will run 7 days a week, including holidays.

Service to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will run hourly, 7-days-a-week, including holidays via Route 436. 

Route 436 has different service patterns. On weekdays, trips marked with “V” go to MSP Airport, and on weekends, trips marked with “S” go to the airport.

  • V Pattern (weekday): Eagan Transit Station → Viking Lakes → MSP → 46th St
  • S Pattern (weekend): Eagan Transit Station → Viking Lakes → MSP → 46th St (no Mendota Heights/Thomson Reuters stops)

Service to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will run bi-hourly, 7-days-a-week, including holidays via Route 495V

Route 495 is a popular suburban express route that provides service between Shakopee, Burnsville, the Mall of America, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. Route 495 connects with other routes at Marschall Road Transit Station, Burnsville Transit Station and Mall of America Station, where riders can connect with the Metro Blue Line that serves Minneapolis.

  • Download the RideMVTA App, use the website trip planner, grab a pocket schedule, or call MVTA at 952-882-7500 to plan your trip.
  • Arrive 5 minutes early to the transit station
  • Locate the bus that says 495V, 436V, or 436S on the headsign
  • Have your fare ready.
  • Insert the exact cash or tap the Go-To Card when boarding
  • Sit back, and enjoy the ride to MSP!

MVTA offers free airport parking at Burnsville Transit Station and Eagan Transit Station!

Airport Parking Only Form

Complete the Airport Parking Only form if you plan to park at Burnsville Transit Station or Eagan Transit Station, MVTA’s designated Airport Parking Only location. Completion of this form notifies MVTA staff that your vehicle will be parked overnight and should not be towed. Overnight parking is at the vehicle owner’s own risk. MVTA is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage of personal items or vehicles. The parking lot is not secured.

How to Register for Airport Parking

  • Pre-register for airport only parking prior to arriving at the MVTA Airport Parking Only location by filling out the form, or when you arrive, scan the QR code provided to customers via parking space signage.

Burnsville Transit Station

  • Spaces are located on the parking ramp’s east side of the first level.

Eagan Transit Station

3470 Pilot Knob Rd, Eagan, MN 55122

  • All vehicles must be registered through the form below or at MVTA’s customer service window, located at Burnsville Transit Station. Customer service operations are Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm, call ahead to ensure prompt service, (952) 882-7500.
  • Customers can park vehicles for up to 14 days at the MVTA Airport Parking Only location. If more days are needed, contact MVTA Customer Service.
MVTA is part of the regional transit fare system. You can purchase tickets with a Go-To card, Universal Transit pass, Metropass, or by paying the exact fare.

  • Youth (Ages 6-12): $1.00 
  • Senior (Ages 65+): $1.00

*Persons with Disabilities: Reduced fare applies for persons with a Metro Mobility card, Metro Transit ID card, or Minnesota Driver’s License or State ID with an “L” endorsement. Note that Medicare cards are valid as identification only for non-rush hour trips.

**Veterans: An ID issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs showing “Service Connected” or “SC” must be shown to the driver. Effective July 1, 2009

 

Routes 495 and 436 will pick up and drop-off at Terminal 1 Transit Station.

Airport travelers are welcome to bring their luggage onboard Routes 495 and 436. The luggage should be limited to the amount you can carry on to the bus in one trip.
