Downtown St. Paul detour begins March 18

MVTA will implement a detour for routes 480, 484, and 489 southbound from Union Depot in St. Paul beginning March 18 through the fall of 2024. Service will be directed away from the 6th Street corridor and onto 7th Street due to Metro Transit Gold Line construction. 

Effective March 18, stops along 6th Street will not be served on southbound Route 480 and Route 489 due to construction. The green check marks on 7th St. indicate the stop locations during the detour.

Effective March 18, stops along 6th Street will not be served on southbound Route 484 due to construction. The green check mark at 7th St. at Robert Street will be the stop location during the detour.

Stops being closed:

6th St. at Jackson St.

6th St. at Jackson St/Robert St.

  • Riders who normally get on at 6th St. at Jackson St. and 6th St. at Jackson St./Robert St. should use 7th St. at Robert St. NE corner.

6th St. at Cedar St.

  • Route 480 and Route 489 Riders who normally get on at 6th St. at Cedar St. should use 7th St. at Cedar St. NE corner. 7th St. at Cedar St. NE corner will not be a stop for Route 484 due to left-hand turn.

6th St. at Wabasha St.

6th St. at Washington St.

  • Riders who normally get on at 6th St. at Wabasha St. and 6th St. at Washington St. should use 7th St. at St. Peter St. NE corner.

6th St. at Washington St/7th St.

  • Riders who normally get on at 6th St. at Washington St./7th St. should use 7th St. at 6th St. NE corner.
