Meet Mark, a City of Eagan resident who works as a Periodic Review Analyst at U.S. Bank. For most of his adult life, Mark never imagined himself as a transit rider. “I’ve always driven,” he said. “Even at 18 years old, I had a car.” For years, his daily commute to downtown Minneapolis meant long, draining drives where he was navigating heavy traffic “Almost every day, it was taking an hour just to get downtown because of the traffic,” Mark shared.
But everything changed thanks to a conversation with a co-worker named Jen. “She told me that she always takes the bus,” he recalled. Although he’d felt apprehensive about using an unfamiliar commute mode, concerned about transfers, timing, and reliability, Mark decided to give it a try. Jen suggested they ride together as a trial, and the two planned what they affectionately called a “field trip day.” She met him at the Eagan Transit Station and they boarded Route 470 toward downtown Minneapolis.
“This literally just happened three to four weeks ago,” Mark said. “It was the coolest, easiest experience ever.”
