Shakopee local service changes proposed
MVTA is proposing to replace Route 497 and Route 499 in Shakopee in December 2026 with a new Route 429 (with an A and B pattern) to serve local trips. Route 429 would operate hourly in one direction on weekdays, with select trips in the opposite direction during peak times. Route 429 would stop hourly at the following destinations, along with other local locations: Marschall Road Transit Station, St. Francis Hospital, Shakopee High School, Shakopee VA, Hy-Vee, Town Square Mall, Scott County Government Center, Downtown Shakopee. Select trips at peak times will also serve Southwest Intermediate School.
Under this proposal, fixed route service would be removed from some locations, including Walmart. Locations losing fixed route service would maintain access to transit through MVTA Connect.
