MVTA service schedules adjust on June 3

Routes affected: 436, 442, 445, 446, 447, 465, 470, 475, 477, 489, Orange LINK
MVTA will be reducing trip frequencies on University of Minnesota routes for the summertime and be making route modifications for Route 436, Route 445, and Route 489, as part of the upcoming June 3 service changes listed below. Riders are encouraged to share feedback with MVTA Customer Service on any route changes they’d like to see during upcoming service changes by calling 952-882-7500.
U of M service
Route 465, 475 — routes that serve the University of Minnesota from Burnsville and Apple Valley – will reduce trip frequency for the summer months but will restore trips when the U of M resumes classes in the fall.
The following trips will be temporarily suspended:
Route 465 Northbound: 8:40 a.m., 9:20 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 10:40 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:40 p.m., 1:40 p.m. Route 465 Southbound: 10:05 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 1:05 p.m., 2:05 p.m., 3:05 p.m., 5:35 p.m., 5:55 p.m., 6:40 p.m., 7:35 p.m.
Route 475 Northbound: 11:49 a.m. Route 475 Southbound: 11:05 a.m.
Route 475 Southbound: 11:05 a.m.
Apple Valley Southbound Station Bay updates
The bay listings at Apple Valley Transit Southbound Station will be updated on June 3. Currently the Orange Link, Route 442, Route 447, and Route 477 have trips that depart from the Southbound Station. The bay listings will be updated to Bays E, F, and G at the Southbound Station to provide differentiation from the bays at the Northbound Station. Orange Link, Route 442 southbound, Route 447, and Route 477 southbound trips will depart from Bay F.
Route 489 routing update
After hearing from riders, Route 489 is being re-routed to serve the Viking Lakes area and reduce commute times to and from the new Thomson Reuters facility (stop #01940: Thomson Reuters and Prime Therapeutics). The route will also now terminate at Eagan Transit Station, giving riders additional connections. The route will no longer serve the Ecolab campus directly. Riders from Ecolab are directed to board and depart on Lone Oak Road.
Thomson Reuters routing updated
The routing for Routes 436, Route 445, and Route 489 has been adjusted at the Thomson Reuters manufacturing facility (stop #00812) due to ongoing access changes at the facility. Slight changes have been made to reflect the new route times. Some 436 southbound trips now depart 46th Street Station three to six minutes later.
Stop location changes
Several stop changes are planned on routes based on rider requests and safety.
Route 436 and Route 445 – For improved safety, the Route 436 and Route 445 westbound stop at Dodd Road at UPS SE corner and the eastbound stop at Dodd Road at UPS West Corner are being removed. The change will not impact trip times. Riders may use the stops at Whitney Drive at Whitney Drive as an alternative. Riders are directed to use stops at Dodd Road and Opperman Drive as an alternative.
Route 447/Orange LINK – For improved safety, the stop at Whitney Drive at Cedar Avenue SW corner is being removed. The stop was on Route 447 Eastbound and Orange LINK Southbound. Riders may use the stops at Whitney Drive at Whitney Drive as an alternative.
Route time changes
Route 446 – Northbound times have been adjusted on main pattern trips. This change effects departure times at Eagan Transit Station, Lexington Avenue at Gemini Road, and Corporate Center Drive at Corporate Center Curve.
Route 470 – To better accommodate evening commutes, the last two 470 southbound trip times have been adjusted to 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
